Srinagar: Srinagar is the richest district in Kashmir with only 1.51 percent underprivileged people this means only 1.51 percent of the population in Srinagar district is poor.
Pulwama: Second richest district in Kashmir is Pulwama with 3.97 percent underprivileged people. The District is centrally located in the valley of Kashmir. The economy of the District mainly depends on the Agriculture Sector.
Shopian: Third richest district in Kashmir is Shopian with 6.51 percent underprivileged people. The economy of the district depends on agriculture, particularly apple growing. Shopian is bounded by Pulwama, Kulgam, Anantnag, and Peer Ki Gali.
Budgam: Fourth richest district in Kashmir is Budgam with 6.84 percent underprivileged people. Budgam is also popular for its natural beauty. It is the district with the largest population of Shias in the Kashmir valley.
Baramulla: Fifth richest district in Kashmir is Baramulla with 7.06 percent underprivileged people. Baramulla is the largest producer of Horticulture products in the state. There are vast apple orchards in the district. World-class apples are grown here.
