According to the 7th Pay Commission, there is going to be a bumper increase in the salary of central employees in the new year. The employees are going to get not one but three bumper gifts from the government. On the basis of these three, there will be a tremendous hike in the salary of the employees. The dearness allowance of government employees is increased every year in January and July.
Increase in dearness allowance A 4 percent increase in dearness allowance for July 2022 has been announced by the government in September. After this, dearness allowance is expected to increase by 4 percent in January 2023. On this, if the dearness allowance is increased by 4 percent, it will increase to 42 percent. Experts say that before the 2024 elections, the government is considering giving more gifts to the employees. Apart from the announcement on the fitment factor by the government, the restoration of the old pension scheme can also be announced.
Fitment factor The fitment factor of central employees can be increased from 2.57 to 3.68 by the Modi government. If this happens, there will be a bumper increase in the salary of government employees. About 52 lakh central employees have been demanding an increase in the fitment factor for the past several months. At present, the minimum salary of the employees is Rs 18,000. After the decision on the fitment factor, it will increase to Rs 26,000. Till now no official statement has come on this.
Restoration of the old pension schemes
Keeping in mind the Lok Sabha elections 2024, an announcement can be made by the central government to restore the old pension scheme. If this happens then the long standing demand of the employees will be fulfilled. Many state governments including Punjab have restored the old pension scheme.
Let us tell you that this scheme of the government was discontinued from April 1, 2004. As per the new scheme, employees contribute 10 per cent of their basic salary to the pension, while the state government contributes 14 per cent.
